Travel: All eyes on the skies for Eagle Days

Hundreds of bird-watching enthusiasts are expected to flock to the Fox Valley on Saturday for the inaugural Eagle Days on the Fox River event.

Dozens and dozens of bald eagles call the greater Appleton area home during the winter as they scan the flowing river for its supply of fish.

The free event begins at 10 a.m. with a presentation at 1000 Islands Environmental Center, Kaukauna, which is where many of the bald eagles can be seen. Currently, at least 40 bald eagles can be seen resting in the trees and flying over the river just east of the environmental center. ...
