Wausau teen to attend inauguration

A Wausau teen's interest in politics and leadership has taken her all the way to Washington, D.C., for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

Allison Senanayake, 15, a sophomore at Wausau West High School, on Saturday flew to Washington to participate in the High School Presidential Inaugural Conference, a program that aims to inspire leadership in young people. The five-day event includes a special viewing party Monday for the inauguration of President Barack Obama.
