Chad D. Grundemann of Becher-Hoppe Associates Inc. attended a roundabout capacity analysis course Nov. 27 to 29 in San Antonio, Texas. The course was organized through the University of Wisconsin-Madison College of Engineering and led by Mark Lenters, president of Ourston Roundabout Engineering Inc., a leading expert in North American roundabout design.

Becher-Hoppe Associates is a firm of consulting engineers, architects, surveyors and real estate specialists providing a wide spectrum of quality professional services to government, businesses and individuals.


? Envision Eyecare staff members attended the Wisconsin Paraoptometric Association fall convention Sept. 28 and 29 in Wisconsin Dells. Staff members attended courses on "Vision Therapy for Brain Injury Patients," "Vision Development in Infants" and "The Big Three: Glaucoma, Cataracts and Macular Degeneration."

? Dr. Niaz Haque, a hematologist/oncologist, has joined the staff members at Marshfield Clinic providing diagnosis and treatment for patients with cancer. Haque specializes in blood disorders.

Haque is associated with Marshfield Clinic's Wausau Center and Weston Center, and also sees patients at Ministry Saint Michael's Hospital in Stevens Point.

? Becker's Hospital Review has recognized Aspirus Wausau Hospital in its recently released list of "100 Hospitals with Great Heart Programs."

The list recognizes outstanding hospitals for heart care in the United States. According to Becker's, the 100 hospitals on the list have made strides to combat heart disease through innovative clinical research, high-quality care and state-of-the-art treatments. These hospitals also have extended their services beyond the confines of their facilities by educating their local communities about heart health.

Becker's selects its list based on clinical accolades, recognition for quality care and contributions to the fields of cardiology and cardiovascular surgery.

? Aflac has named Alison Morrow the regional manager for central and northern Wisconsin. Aflac is a supplemental insurance company known for its payroll deduction that pays policyholders cash at the time of a claim.

Morrow is responsible for growth of Aflac in the region and continuing ethical practices.

? Church Mutual Insurance Co., Merrill, announced the promotions of one present and two new officers at the 115-year-old property and casualty insurer.

Mark Steinberg has been promoted to vice president - Broker/Specialty Markets effective Jan. 1.

Dawn Lemke has been named assistant vice president - Chief Compliance Officer effective Jan. 1.

Effective Feb. 1, Cindy Brandt will become assistant corporate secretary.

Terrance Davczyk has been selected for inclusion on the 2012 Wisconsin Super Lawyer List, an honor reserved for those lawyers who exhibit excellence in practice.

Spencer E. Davczyk has been selected for the fourth time to the Wisconsin Super Lawyers' Rising Stars list of attorneys.

They are in practice with the law firm of Davczyk & Varline LLC in Wausau.


Jeff Zollpriester, COO of Quality Foods IGA and owner of the Schofield location, received the IGA USA International Retailer of the Year award.


The Wausau Chapter of International Association of Administrative Professionals has achieved the Chapter of Excellence rating for 2011-12 from IAAP's international headquarters. The chapter earned the designation after meeting eight designated criteria in IAAP's Pathways to Excellence program.

Twelve members of the Wausau Chapter IAAP have achieved Member of Excellence status for 2011-12: Bonita Buchberger, Janelle Christensen, Ann Dahlke, Cheryl Haebich, Lynn Heil, Lynette Hieronimus, Nancy Kowalski, Sonia Miller, Luann Prahl, Heather Renzelmann, Sheila Rovang and Darlene Vlietstra. Each earned the designation after meeting eight of 11 designated criteria in IAAP's Pathways to Excellence program.

IAAP is the world's largest association for administrative professionals, providing career information, education, networking opportunities and certification programs. The association works in partnership with employers to promote professional excellence.
