A habitat analysis of an endangered butterfly is the final hurdle to state approval for the East Park Commerce Center in the newly annexed portion of Stevens Point.

The Karner blue butterfly "creates another layer to address," said Stevens Point Mayor Andrew Halverson. Progress on the project is "unaffected by its presence."

The city contracted AECOM to study parts of the East Park Commerce area. The analysis will take place in the spring, when the weather gets warmer. It will be the last piece to the planned 762-acre business park, and after its completion, the project will be shovel-ready, ...
