GUN DEBATE, PART 1: The gun debate is so predictable. The thing I keep hearing is that cars kill more people than guns, so why not ban cars? First, you can't drive your gun to work, unless you use it to hold up a driver. Deaths by cars are almost always ruled accidents. Hardly anyone gets in their car to kill someone. However, if you pack up a boatload of shells, carry three guns and go to a place where no one expects you to be so that you can kill, that's no accident. To stem the tide, I have two suggestions: Ban cigarettes and make targets shoot back. The first is personal. The second would give those who love guns a better perspective of what you can or can't do with a gun.

GUN DEBATE, PART 2: Since the tragic massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary School, I've heard the oft-repeated mantra that guns don't kill people, people do. Right. And cigarettes don't kill people, the cancer does. Saying that more guns is the solution to gun violence is like saying more heroin is needed to combat heroin addiction.
