Long-time Green Bay police veteran Tom Molitor, who has been serving as interim chief for the last six months, was selected this morning over three other candidates to become the city's new police chief.

The Police & Fire Commission today offered Molitor the job conditional upon his completion of "certain pre-employment tasks," human resources director Lynn Boland said. She identified them as standard procedure but wouldn't elaborate.

Molitor will be paid $102,574 per year. ...
