We have talked about the importance of a facilitator for meetings. I have mentioned that, if possible, facilitators are best if they have no vested interest in the outcome and can focus on the process. That could mean using an outside professional, or someone from a client or another department.

By doing this, the attendees can then participate and, when necessary, the facilitator will take steps to handle problems.

But when it is just not feasible to use an outside resource for a meeting, or the meeting is a regularly scheduled meeting that does not warrant a special facilitator, some ...
