County Board to decide ice arena issue

A group of Winnebago County supervisors sponsored a resolution to sell the Tri-County Ice Arena to the Fox Valley Youth Hockey Association for $1.

With a dozen supervisors co-signing the resolution, it only needs the support of another seven supervisors to have the majority needed to pass when the County Board meets at 6 p.m. Tuesday. It could also bring to an end an extended period of doubt and uncertainty about the 33-year-old arena's ownership future.

The arena's fate has been on shaky ground since last summer when Outagamie County sold its interest in the arena to Winnebago County for $1. ...
