Water skiers think summer with wintertime practice

Central Wisconsin lakes remain frozen, but a local water ski group is getting a jump on its season.

This year, the Wisconsin Rapids-area based Aqua Skiers will hold three-hour practices on land twice a month at Wild Horse Saloon in the Portage County town of Grant. Once the weather warms enough, the group will move practices outside and eventually to their on-water practice site in Biron.

The show, "The Hatfields and McCoys," is set for the team's 2013 season, said Amber Krohn, show director. The premise of the performance is that the two feuding families work together to recover a stolen pig. ...
