Titans transformed: Fischer has UWO women in heat of WIAC chase

First-year head coach Brad Fischer, center, has led an impressive turnaround with the UW-Oshkosh women's basketball program. After winning just one conference game and finishing last in the WIAC, the Titans are off to a 7-1 start in league play this season and are in a four-way tie for first place in the conference.

This time last year, the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh Titans women's basketball team finished their first go-around in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference 1-7. They had lost six of their last seven games.

It wouldn't get much better from there. Their lone conference win in the first half? The only one they would get all season. Losing six of their last seven? That turned into a nine-game losing streak to finish out the season.

What a difference a year makes. ...
