Area braces for cold weather this week

Cousins Carter and Ryker Lesniak were making the most out of their opportunity to play outside before a burst of freezing weather hit the Stevens Point area.

Carter, 5, and Ryker, 8, spent part of Saturday afternoon at the Kids Are Special Here, or KASH, playground. While there still was snow on the ground, the duo, bundled up in snow pants and jackets, ran around, went down slides and even spent some time in the sandbox.
