The temperature continues to fall and is approaching double-digits below zero today in the Wausau area, according to the National Weather Service in Green Bay.

The temperature at about 10 a.m. in Wausau was minus 9 degrees, or 9 degrees colder that it was at midnight, according to the weather agency.

A mass of cold air has descended upon Wisconsin from northern Canada and brought the coldest weather of the year to the Wausau area. The frigid air and wind has created dangerously low wind chill readings. A wind chill advisory is in effect until noon Tuesday. ...
