Influenza was not one of the factors that caused the death of a Pulaski 10th-grader earlier this winter.

The death of Santana Wood resulted from natural causes not related to the flu or another communicable condition, Brown County Medical Examiner Al Klimek has ruled. He said he couldn't reveal the specific cause, but an email from Pulaski school officials to parents attributed the death in December to a heart-related illness.

The district in December sent a letter to parents saying that they believed that flu complications might have caused Wood's death.
