The Point/Rapids girls hockey team and Northern Edge entered Monday's game tied in second place with 13 points and in fitting fashion the clubs battled to a 1-1 tie at South Wood County Recreation Center.

Hailey Ehr put Point/Rapids on top just past the midway point of the second period, with Rachel Metz picking up the assist on the play.

But, Northern Edge quickly responded 100 seconds later, as Cassie Hogar beat Emily Bubla to knot the game. Red Panthers netminder Emily Bubla stopped 17 of 18 shots, while Sophie Schmidt stopped 24 of 25 shots for Northern Edge. ...
