Book release party celebrates Roaring '20s

Mary Ellen Lisciandra of Wisconsin Rapids will host a Roaring '20s party to celebrate the release of her book "Stolen Lives," a fictional novella about gangsters in the Prohibition era in Chicago. The party will be from 8 p.m. to midnight Friday at Club Forest, 1176 Club Forest Drive, east of Golden Sands Speedway on Highway 54.

Events will include gangster trivia, a Charleston dance contest and costume contests for the best dressed gangster and flapper. Guests are encouraged to dress in 1920s attire and come ready to dance. Prizes will include free passes to see the new movie "Gangster Squad," drinks, free copies of the book and more.
