De Pere's 1983 state-title team to be honored

De Pere High School will commemorate the 30-year anniversary of the school's first girls basketball state championship Friday night, Jan. 25.

Players and coaches from De Pere's 1982-83 team will be in attendance and introduced at halftime of the Redbirds' varsity girls basketball game against visiting Sheboygan North. The game is scheduled to start at 7:15 p.m.

De Pere won the WIAA Class A state title in 1983.

Kiwanis Club breakfast Sunday

Kiwanis Club of De Pere will hold its annual Pancake and Porky Breakfast from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 27, at Swan Club at Legends Brewhouse & Eatery of De Pere, 875 Heritage Road.

Tickets for the all-you-can-eat breakfast are $6.50 for adults and $4 for children 11 and younger.

Photo Show on Wednesday night

De Pere Historical Society will hold its next Photo Show from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 30, in the auditorium at West De Pere High School, 665 Grant St.

Admission is free. Attendees are encouraged to bring old photos of the De Pere area.

Refreshments will be available after the show.

Mr. Titletown, fashion show

The fifth annual Mr. Titletown Competition - Formalwear Fashion Show, featuring students from several Brown County high schools, will be Sunday, Jan. 27, in the Three Clans Ballroom at Radisson Hotel & Conference Center, 2040 Airport Drive, Ashwaubenon.

The show will start at 2:15 p.m.; doors will open at 2 p.m. A prom boutique with local businesses will be available for viewing at 1 p.m.

The event is a fundraiser for Green Bay Area Chamber of Commerce's Partners in Education Safe Prom/Grad Night Campaign.

"Mr. Man" representatives from more than 10 high schools, including De Pere and West De Pere, will compete for a $2,500 scholarship and the title of "Mr. Titletown" in the Mr. Titletown Competition.

The Formalwear Fashion Show will showcase the latest in this year's prom fashions by local models.

Advance tickets, priced at $5, are being sold at participating high schools as well as at DuBois Formalwear locations, Elaine's and Green Bay Area Chamber of Commerce. Tickets will be $7 at the door.
