Coordinator: Cuts for tobacco check program worrisome

The coordinator for the Wisconsin Wins program in central Wisconsin is pleased with the results of the 2012 compliance checks but worried about the program's future.

Wisconsin Wins is a statewide campaign to reduce children's access to tobacco. In 2012, 83.3 percent of the Wisconsin Rapids-area businesses checked refused to sell tobacco to minors. In Wood County, 84.2 percent of the businesses refused to make the sale, according to a news release from Wisconsin Wins.
