Letter: Donations support Christmas Cheer Club

Every year I coordinate the South Wood County Christmas Cheer Club for the Wood County Human Services Department, and every year I am amazed by the generosity of local citizens, churches and businesses. This Christmas, with the support of the Daily Tribune and donations from many groups and individuals, we provided Christmas gifts to more than 200 local children.

I try to send thank-you letters to everyone who contributed to the Christmas Cheer Club, but often donations are made anonymously. So to those of you who contributed without giving your name - thank you! Your generosity made a difference.

Next, I extend the appreciation of our department to the Daily Tribune for all the help and support with the Christmas Cheer Club. The attractive ads provided by the Daily Tribune are crucial to raising public awareness of the Christmas project and to our fund raising efforts. South Wood County is fortunate to have a newspaper that is so dedicated to community involvement.

Finally, I would like to publicly acknowledge the support of all the churches, clubs, schools, private companies, businesses, and individuals who contributed toys, gifts, gift certificates, and money to the Christmas Cheer Club.

To everyone involved - thank you! Your generosity and holiday spirit made Christmas merrier for many children right in your own community.

Sincerely yours,

Jodie Knuteson
