Conventional wisdom tells us children raised with silver spoons will become self-centered and out-of-touch. We caution against spoiling kids, believing they will always expect the world to coddle their whims.

Likewise, research shows that children who are not properly nurtured suffer developmental issues which plague them throughout their lives. This simple notion - that childhood creates imprints that last a lifetime - has been proven time and again across generations and cultures.

And yet, in the swirling discussions around homelessness in our community, we willingly or naively ...
