Nekoosa woman's condition upgraded to good after semi-car crash

A 57-year-old Nekoosa woman is in good condition at Ministry Saint Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield after authorities say the car she was in collided with a semitrailer in the town of Port Edwards.

Kathleen M. Esser's condition was upgraded Wednesday from fair to good, a hospital spokeswoman said.

At 6:10 p.m. Friday, a car driven by Wayne H. Esser, 58, Nekoosa, and a semitrailer driven by Gordon L. Varsho, 51, Vesper, and owned by Triumph Transportation of Milwaukee, collided on Highway 54 near Port Road, when Varsho was backing his vehicle, across an oncoming lane of traffic into the parking ...
