Disorderly conduct charge against Packers' Walden dismissed

A charge of disorderly conduct was dismissed this morning for Green Bay Packers linebacker Erik Walden, who was charged a year ago in connection with a domestic dispute at his home.

In a short hearing, which Walden did not attend, Brown County Judge William Atkinson dismissed the charge as part of a deferred prosecution agreement after learning Walden fulfilled the requirements of the agreement. Walden committed no violations, underwent counseling as ordered and performed more hours of community service than was required, according to his lawyer, Steven Richards.
