Red Cross assists Cato woman displaced by fire

Organization offers tips for protection

American Red Cross workers in Wisconsin found themselves responding to seven fires during the past week, including one that destroyed a home in Manitowoc County on Sunday, said Barbara Behling, communications officer.

Sunday's fire, called in about 10 a.m., caused more than $200,000 damage to a single-family home at 11525 Hilltop Road, Cato, and displaced resident Kari Schisel, said Whitelaw Fire Chief Jim Sauer.

No one was injured and the cause was undetermined, he said. ...
