An update meeting for WPDES permitted CAFO owners and managers, nutrient management plan writers, engineers and farm operations approaching 1,000 animal units is planned for Feb. 12 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., at the Dodge County Administration Building Auditorium, 127 E. Oak St. in Juneau.
Session goals include: improve nutrient management plan implementation; improve communication between plan writers, permit holders and the WDNR; and regulations that may affect large farming operations.
Meeting topics include:

? Online mapping tools - DATCP NMP Specialist.
? OSHA inspection summary, top safety issues - UW Extension Agricultural Agent.

? Waterways and wetlands and how they impact your farm operation - Local DNR Water Management Specialist.
? Permit annual reporting updates - Local DNR Agricultural Specialist.
? Working with your professional manure applicator - Local Custom Hauler.
? Public perception, neighbor relations & DNR complaint response - Local DNR Agricultural Specialist.
? Protecting permanent offsite manure transfer lines - UW Extension Educator.
