The tug Erica Kobasic is expected to conduct ice-breaking operations between Sturgeon Bay and Marinette and Menominee, Mich., between Monday and Wednesday.

The tug will take a barge into Marinette and Menominee and then proceed to Escanaba, Mich., the U.S. Coast Guard said.

Ice fishermen should remove shacks and equipment from these areas. Snowmobile and ATV operators, and other recreational users of the ice should avoid shipping channels, plan activity carefully and use caution near the area.
