Jan. 27, 1938 - Police prepare to test drivers: City and county police are preparing to give the person seeking a driver's license - not including renewals of present licenses - examinations which will be required of new applicants for drivers' licenses from now on, under a recently announced policy of Secretary of State Theodore Dammann. The law requires local officials to give the tests.

Any person seeking a driver's license - not including renewals of present licenses - should apply either at the police station or the sheriff's office, depending on whether he resides in the city of the county, and obtain a manual for drivers.
