Packers make wetland donation to account for Cabela's construction

The Green Bay Packers are working toward replenishing wetland area in Brown County, donating $75,000 to the wetland conservation effort at Barkhausen Waterfowl Preserve in Suamico.

The move comes as construction of a Cabela's location removes some wetland acreage.

The Packers have joined forces with Ducks Unlimited to work on preservation, and the team plans to lease a 21-acre site near Lambeau Field to the sporting goods store. The location includes nearly 11 acres of wetlands, 2 acres of which will be filled in as a result of construction. ...
