During the holiday season, my family and I were sitting around my parents' house eating dinner one night when my older brother, Dan Liska, threw an idea out to my dad and I.

It was something we had never done before, and it was definitely something outside the box. He said, "Let's take a trip up to the cabin this winter and go coyote hunting for a weekend."

I took it as a joke at first, just another idea my brother concocted out of thin air that we would move past as soon as we stopped talking about it. ...
