Ben's Wish, a nonprofit effort to reduce hunger, is hosting its annual poster and writing contest for local students.

Ben's Wish was started when 11-year-old Ben Delain died after an accident in 2007. According to his family, Ben was passionate about helping others, and two days before he died, he gave a homeless man an apple. His family created Ben's Wish in his honor, to help the hungry.
