Daina Shilts, 22, of Neillsville, will achieve a lifelong dream when she competes in snowboarding at the 2013 Special Olympics World Winter Games from Tuesday through Feb. 5 in Pyeongchang, South Korea.

"It's been my dream ever since I was 8, when I first started Special Olympics," Shilts said.

Shilts started snowboarding six years ago, when she wanted a change from downhill skiing. ...
