Sunday snowfall broke record

The 5.3 inches of snow that fell Sunday in Wausau was a new record for the date, according to the National Weather Service in Green Bay.

The previous record for Jan. 27 was 4 inches of snow set in 1997, according to weather records.

Some of that new fallen snow could melt today in the warm weather and rain that are in the forecast. ...
