Tired of flowers and chocolates? For the second year in a row, the St. Mary's Springs Academy Music Department's will be offering an exciting way to show your love. Five groups of talented singers and musicians will tout around Fond du Lac popping in on folks to serenade them with love songs in perfect harmony.
High school members of vocal jazz group, chorus and band, dressed in formal attire, will surprise that special recipient and present a rose and then serenade them in song. These talented students will harmonize fun love songs such as "L-O-V-E."
Fond du Lac residents can book this surprise serenade for a friend, spouse, parent, grandma to make their day extra special. "We'll go almost anywhere in Fond du Lac - their home, workplace, classroom, nursing home, a restaurant. Wherever you'd like to surprise that special someone," says Springs Vocal, Band and Choral Director, Andrea Pannier. Last year over 80 telegrams were delivered in and about Fond du Lac at banks, to restaurants, homes, offices, clinics, nursing homes and schools.
The Valentine Telegram fund-raiser will benefit the The St. Mary's Springs Performing Arts' spring musical "Peter Pan" on the second weekend of March. Peter Pan will be an amazing production, complete with flying actors. "The flying equipment is quite costly and the monies raised from this promotion will offset that expense," according to Parents for Performing Arts club president Eilieen DiSalvo.
Reservations can be made now through Feb. 14. You can call to book the time and place by calling Jennie at 920-913-0977. The cost of a singing, musical Valentine telegram is just $30 and can made payable to St. Mary's Springs Academy Music Department.
Do something out of the ordinary for that special someone in your life this Valentines Day. Surely a singing, musical telegram from Springs will be a Valentines Day they never forget.
