ASHWAUBENON - The Ashwaubenon School District is hosting an open house to recognize Keith Lucius, who was chosen by the Wisconsin Association of School Business Officials as the 2013 business official of the year.

The open house is set for 3 to 5 p.m. today in the Ashwaubenon High School commons area, 2391 S. Ridge Road.

Lucius was presented the statewide award on Wednesday during the annual State Education Convention in Milwaukee.

Lucius has been with the Ashwaubenon School District since 1999. During that time he has led or been a part of efforts to refinance long-term debt to save the district millions of dollars, implement energy conservation programs, manage the district's self-funded health insurance program to lower rates, and organize successful building-improvement referendums at Pioneer and Valley View elementary schools and the high school.
