Rose Garden sold at auction for $683K to bank

A popular Wausau banquet hall that was foreclosed this summer was sold Tuesday at a sheriff's auction to the bank that held the mortgage on the property.

The owners of The Rose Garden, Aaron and Rose Wicker of Wausau and their company, Wicker Properties, owed a $759,323 mortgage to Green Bay-based Associated Bank. The property at 131 W. Thomas St. was foreclosed on July 24 by the bank.

The property was sold Tuesday morning for $683,800 at the auction to Associated Bank. Wausau attorney Jim Low represented Associated Bank's attorney, the Green Bay law firm of Metzler, Timm, Treleven, Pahl, ...
