Franklin students help others while improving themselves

Ten students at Green Bay's Franklin Middle School spent an hour after school making posters about their new wellness club while munching on strawberries, blueberries and other fresh fruit.

The new after-school program, funded through a $1,000 grant from United Healthcare, is meant to both foster healthier behaviors and encourage service to others.

The program kicked off Jan. 21, Martin Luther King Day, and students cooked a meal that later was donated to the Golden House, a shelter for domestic abuse victims. ...
