There are over 140,000 Wisconsinites on a BadgerCare waiting list. The federal government will provide $12 billion to fill the holes in BadgerCare over the next 10 years thanks to the Affordable Care Act, as long as Gov. Scott Walker accepts it. This funding will help Wisconsin in a variety of ways. Primarily through helping to cover over 200,000 more people in Badgercare, 7,171 of them in Brown County. But not only that, the funding will generate an estimated net 10,000 jobs in Wisconsin's health care sector. Wisconsin will save an additional $495 million by accepting this money through reductions in the cost of uncompensated medical care because more people would have health coverage and by the federal government covering more of the cost. Walker, say yes to BadgerCare.
