Oshkosh Talent Untapped winners announced

The Mid-Morning Kiwanis Club's Oshkosh Talent Untapped competition awarded prizes Friday evening totaling more than $1,800 to local performers in three divisions.

The successful event raised funds for educational grants to area teachers and graduating seniors. Additional sponsors included UWO Circle K, Lourdes Academy and BMO Harris Bank.

Winners in the youth division included: first place, Grace Subat, Oshkosh North, vocals; second, Matt Beecher, Oshkosh West High School, musical theatre; and third, Emily Jackson, Laconia High School.

In the adult division, winners included: first, Samantha Phillip, vocals; second, Courtney Reynolds, vocals/guitar; and third, Janna Hall, piano.

In the semi-pro division, winners included: first, One Button Short Barbershop Quartet, vocals; second, Cassie Boettcher, guitar/vocals; and third, Melissa Lee, piano/vocals.

Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world, one child and one community at a time.
