The condition of occupants in a Sigel home was not known as several local fire departments continued to fight a structure fire as of 5:30 a.m. today, according to a Wood County Sheriff's Department news release.

The home at 5649 Fisher Road, Sigel, was totally engulfed in flames when First Responders arrived shortly after 2:30 a.m., according to the release. It was possible the occupants at the residence were inside, the release said.

Fire personnel are requesting local residents stay clear of the location, as water is being transported to the scene.

Vesper, Pittsville, Arpin, Rudolph, Grand Rapids, Nekoosa, and Port Edwards Fire Departments all responded, in addition to the Wood County Fire Investigation Task Force and Wood County Sheriff Department.

The incident is ongoing and investigators are searching for the cause of the fire, according to the news release.
