Neenah cuts health insurance costs

Neenah schools will save an additional $750,000 in health insurance costs this year because more employees and retirees opted to relinquish their district-provided health plan in exchange for cash.

The school district offered $2,000 to current and retired employees who have access to other health insurance if they declined the district's health plan. A family plan costs the district about $13,400, so it saves $11,400 for each employee who takes the offer.
