A storm system that cut a path from southwestern to northeastern Wisconsin Wednesday dumped several inches of snow on the Fond du Lac area.

Temperatures dropped and the snow started falling about 4 a.m. in Fond du Lac. It quickly covered puddles and green grass that emerged following a couple days of rain earlier this week and highs that climbed into the lower 50s.

Snowfall totals from the storm were not available by deadline Wednesday, but the National Weather Service predicted up to seven inches of snow could blanket the area. ...
