Prescription drug abuse a growing problem

By the time Barb Bickford learned her teen-aged son was abusing prescription drugs, it was too late.

Matt Gear was only 18 in 2003 when he was killed in a traffic crash west of Fond du Lac.

Alcohol is listed as a factor in the crash, Bickford said, but there was more. Bickford said she found her son's journal that documented his abuse of prescription medications. ...
