County performance management plan moves forward

Individual employee evaluations may eventually affect pay

The Personnel Committee of the county Board of Supervisors voted Tuesday evening to move forward with training of supervisors in conducting employee performance reviews.

Personnel Director Sharon Cornils told the committee "you can't just snap your fingers" and put a performance review plan into effect that may by 2015 be part of pay for performance.

Cornils said the pre-Act 10 collective bargaining environment in the public sector did not lend itself to individual performance management and evaluation. ...
