Update 11:49 a.m.: Snow showers could cause slippery spots

Scattered snow showers are possible today in the Manitowoc area, according to the National Weather Service in Green Bay. Less than a half-inch of accumulation is expected, but the new snow could cause slippery spots on area roads.

The high temperature today is expected to be around 16 degrees with winds out of the west-northwest at 15 to 18 mph and gusts up to 25 mph. The weather service has issued a wind chill advisory for midnight tonight until noon Friday for numerous counties, including Manitowoc.

Tonight's temperature will dip to about 4 below zero with wind chills of 15 below to 25 below, ...
