Symphony orchestra preparing for concert

The Sheboygan Symphony Orchestra, directed by Dr. Kevin R. McMahon, will present "Something Borrowed, Nothing Blue" at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 9 at the Stefanie H. Weill Center for the Performing Arts, 826 N. Eighth St., Sheboygan.

The concert is unique because all of the repertoire is built from material one composer borrows from another, according to a news release.

The concert opens with Ottorino Respighi's "The Birds." The movements are titled "The Dove," "The Hen," "The Nightingale" and "The Cuckoo." The musical themes come from various composers who lived from 1637 to 1764. Following the ...
