Brogan Resch, left, and Lucas Gajewski act a scene Sunday during a 'Les Miserables' rehearsal at D.C. Everest High School Auditorium in Weston.
Seven performances of "Les Miserables" come to D.C. Everest Senior High School beginning tonight.
The story, based on the 1862 Victor Hugo novel, was made into a Golden Globe-winning and Oscar-nominated movie last year. To celebrate its 20th year, the Central Wisconsin Educational Theatre Alliance will stage the popular musical about an ex-convict who becomes a force for good.
More than 75 students from Everest, Marathon, Mosinee, Wausau East and West, Newman Catholic, Merrill, Northland Lutheran and Wisconsin Valley Lutheran high schools are participating in the production, directed by Laurie Maegli and Terry Riska. Show times are 7 p.m. tonight through Saturday and also 7 p.m. on Feb. 8 and 9 and 1 p.m. on Feb. 9 and Feb. 10.
Tickets are available online at www.showtix4u.com.
