Democrats unveil jobs plan, hope GOP will support

Legislative Democrats said Thursday they hoped Gov. Scott Walker and other Republicans would get behind a package of proposals designed to create jobs quickly, close the skills gap and help the middle class.

But given that Republicans control the Legislature, prospects for the Democratic ideas to get much traction are dim. Walker will unveil his own plans in his budget to be delivered in three weeks, and that is what Republicans are likely to rally around.
