When Shinedown followed up the monster success of 2008's "The Sound of Madness'' - 120 straight weeks on the Billboard charts and six No. 1 rock-radio hits - with "Amaryllis'' last year, frontman Brent Smith recalls the two distinctly different reactions during its first week of release.
"There was either the person, man or woman, who said, 'This is the greatest record I've heard in the last 15 years. Or 'This album is garbage. I hate it.'
