Local man aims and qualifies for national shooting team

Sixteen people make up the team. Thirteen of them reside in the southern half of the United States where they can practice basically year round. Three live in the northern tier of states, and they aren't even close enough to share rides.

The 16 are the members of the U.S. F Class Open Rifle Team. The team will participate in the World Shooting Competition to be held in Raton, N.M., in August.

Of the three northern-tier shooters, one is our very own John Dunbar. A two-time state championship, Dunbar has been attending qualifying rounds in the Southwest. ...
