Next Friday, Feb. 8, the Paine opens the exhibition Calm before the Storm, presenting a selection of extraordinary artworks chosen for their contrasting extremes in weather and mood. The exhibit runs through April 7.

The artworks range from serene, atmospheric landscapes to turbulent seascapes and stormy skies, illustrating the power of weather to convey emotion and express a mood of turmoil and tranquility.
