Weston flooring business rebuilds after fire

WESTON - A Weston business looks to rebuild following a fire that caused an estimated $1.2 million in damages.

Fire crews on Thursday responded to From the Forest, a wood flooring manufacturer with a 40,000-square-foot fully automated facility in Weston's Business and Technology Park, after a computerized sander started on fire. The cost of the sander, which was destroyed in the fire, is about $200,000, said Weston Fire Chief Steve Meilahn.

From the Forest general manager Susan Lang said the additional $1 million in damages is a result of smoke and ash on nearly finished flooring products. ...
