Playing its seventh game in nine days, it would be understandable if fatigue set in for the Wausau West boys hockey team in Friday's matchup against Notre Dame at Marathon Park.

But, the Warriors showed little wear and played inspired hockey before falling 4-2 to the top-ranked and undefeated Tritons in a rematch of last year's state championship game between two strong-skating teams.

"We have been tested (this month) but I think we showed a little bit of what we have tonight," Wausau West coach Pete Susens said. "No. 1, I think we're in pretty good shape and we've got a little bit of heart inside. ...
